Good morning and welcome to day two of the fourth test in the 2019 Ashes Test Series. Day one of the test at Old Trafford saw just below half of the scheduled overs bowled as rain halted play for an extended amount of time. The visitors ended the day on 170 for 3 after a big third wicket partnership between Labuschagne and Smith, Labuschagne was dismissed by a jaffa from Overton, as for Smith, he remains in great nick making 60 before play was halted for the day thanks to rain. England will be looking to target Head in the early stages of today, he hasn't been in great form this series and is their best chance of getting an early breakthrough. Blue skies surround Old Trafford which means we could be in for a full day of play, fingers crossed.

The pitch seems to not be doing as much as in Leeds, which you would think is a blessing for England when they bat, but right now it's Australia that look to be setting England a big total. Welcome to the fourth day of the fourth Ashes Test taking place at Old Trafford. The home team are hanging in there after a late surge from Australia with the wickets of Burns, Root and Roy. Now Stokes and Bairstow are at the crease and need 98 runs to avoid the follow-on, that will be the target for England in the next two sessions. With the new ball coming in six overs time you would think Australia will fancy their chances of bowling England out cheaply but these two proved in the last test that they can grind out pressure as look to score runs, hopefully for England they can do that and get to a target where Australia need to bat for a while to set an unrealistic target for England to attain.
