What an excellent fightback to go from 13-60 to finish on 244. All credit goes to Dhananjaya de Silva for his superb knock of 109. He played an aggressive innings that was entertaining throughout. His ability to control the tail was sensational and is the main reason Sri Lanka have 244 on the board and not under 200. New Zealand bowled well in patches but probably missed a trick in just targetting the tail and not de Silva himself. Time for New Zealand to bat, and it will be fascinating to see what their approach is.

Welcome to Day 3 of this clash between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. So far, the match has been interrupted by incessant rain. With only 66 overs possible in the first two days, a result in looking unlikely. However, given the amount of moisture around, it would be surprising if there isn't a bit of life in the pitch. If the bowlers from either side can get on a roll, who knows what might happen. There's a bit of rain about again today, but thankfully the forecast is not as bad as the previous days.

Excellent first session if you are a New Zealander, with the touring side taking four wickets. It could have been worse too, with a couple of dropped catches - most notably a sitter by Trent Boult off his own bowling. Dimuth Karunaratne got to his half-century early in the day, and looked very calm throughout. However, some clever bowling from Tim Southee eventually brought about his downfall. Sri Lanka will be hoping they'll be able to reset during the break and come out with a bit more positive intent. We've had a lengthy rain delay here, with the entire second session wiped out. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any let up, with it still raining. Fingers crossed there's still some play left today. Word has just come in that that's Stumps. New Zealand will be extremely happy with their work today, taking four wickets in a session. Sri Lanka were disappointing this morning but have at least put a few runs on the board. The rain has dominated again today though unfortunately, with just 66 overs being possible in two days. With three days left, a result is looking very unlikely, however it will be interesting to see if the points on offer in the new Test Championship will lead to aggressive play - especially for New Zealand. Welcome to the fifth and final day of this intriguing Test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. The New Zealand batsmen dominated yesterday to put their team in a commanding position on the final day. They have not delcared as of yet, with de Grandhomme and Watling pushing for centuries. They are currently 138 runs ahead and still have an innings up their sleeve should they require it. We should see some aggressive cricket from New Zealand today, who will be giving everything they have got to force a victory. Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have the daunting task of batting out an entire day, with the forecast looking reasonably good today. Both Karunaratne and Dickwella failed to take to the field yesterday, compounding the task ahead. Their skipper wonâ??t be able to come in until number seven, which is a massive blow to Sri Lanka considering his recent form at the top of the order. Welcome to Day 4, and we are getting to the pointy end of this Test. After the first two days were hampered by rain, it was great to have a full day of cricket. It was riveting stuff, with many momentum swings and some standout performances. Unfortunately, rain has wiped out the entire first session. It will be interesting to see the approach from both teams as they come back out, with a win vital for New Zealand at the start of the World Test Championship after losing the first match of this series. Sri Lanka are not under any pressure to force a result, so you would think they will be playing for a draw when they do get the chance to get out there.

OUT! Caught. Trent Boult to Lasith Embuldeniya. Short, outside off stump ducked Fended, Gloved to gully, by Williamson. There is the final wicket and New Zealand win! Brilliant bouncer from Boult and all Embuldeniya can do is fend it away, popping it up for a simple catch to Williamson. Quite incredible that New Zealand have won considering all the play lost to rain. Latham and Watling can take most of the credit, with centuries forged under pressure, after New Zealand lost early wickets. A quickfire innings from de Grandhomme too ensured that New Zealand had plenty of runs to defend on the final day. A gritty innings from Dickwella almost denied New Zealand victory, but their relentless, disciplined bowling eventually brought about the mistake. The wickets were shared verry evenly amongst the bowlers. That squares the series at one apiece, with both sides taking away 60 points in the new World Test Championship. Latham takes out Player of the Match for his 154, whilst Watling is Player of the Series.
