Tanveer Sangha

Tanveer Sangha

Ever since a 16-year-old Tanveer Sangha caught the eye of former Australia spinner Fawad Ahmed in 2018, the young leggie has been one to watch. The son of Indian migrants in Sydney’s south-west suburbs, Sangha started his junior cricket career as a fast bowler and it wasn’t until his early teens – when he discovered his skill as a leg-spinner – that his passion for the game started to develop. Having made an instant impact in club cricket, he was quickly ushered into under-age teams at state and international level, meeting Fawad during a series for Australia’s Under-16 team in Melbourne and then starring at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. Later that year, having earned a rookie contract with the NSW Blues at the age of 18, Sangha made an instant impression in his debut season with the Sydney Thunder in the KFC BBL, displaying an excellent temperament and taking the wickets of some of the best players in the competition.
