Peter Siddle
After picking up nine wickets for Victoria in a losing Marsh Shield final in 2008, Peter Siddle was rewarded with a Test debut on a dusty pitch in Mohali later that year. He was quick to impress, striking Gautam Gambhir on the helmet with his very first ball, celebrating his maiden wicket after dismissing Sachin Tendulkar and finishing the match with four wickets. The Victorian remained a solid performer for several years before, also celebrating his 26th birthday with a memorable Ashes hat-trick in Brisbane in 2010. He overcame several injuries and continued to lead an inexperienced attack as Australia moved into the Michael Clarke era, before he was rewarded with 23 wickets in the 4-0 thumping of India in 2011-12. Despite seemingly constant speculation about his place in the side, Siddle played all 10 Ashes Tests in 2013-2014, highlighted by figures of 5-50 at Trent Bridge. Siddle has also enjoyed his share of success in the Big Bash League, playing an instrumental role in Adelaide Strikers winning the 2017/18 title.
Siddle has been known to consume more than 15 bananas in a day since cutting all animal products from his diet in 2012.
